It’s that time of the year again and we’re all rushing to get Christmas gifts for each other. Buying gifts for friends, family, or even co-workers can be a tough challenge. What if they don’t like the gift? What should I buy? This guide will hopefully clear all of your worries and give you a good idea of what to get for your loved ones. I proudly present to you SoyaCincau’s Christmas 2021 ultimate gadget gift guide!

When I started assembling this list, the first place I went to was our RKMD Facebook group. If you don’t know, it’s a group where you can ask for tech recommendations and help out fellow tech lovers. I made a post there asking for some ideas and got some great suggestions.

Filling out the rest of the list, I tried to include a variety of different gadgets, phones, tablets, and laptops, as well as a bunch of stuff I find really cool. Since I’m the ‘audio’ guy in the company, I also included some of my favourite audio equipment that I think would be great for that audiophile in your life. If you enjoy cool products that won’t break the bank, then this list is for you.

This gift guide has the product name and prices sorted in the order of lowest to highest price. They are also categorised into different price ranges so you can shop within your own budget. Some of the products are currently under a limited time discount, so I recommend ordering the gifts as soon as possible.

Editor’s Choice

If you still can’t decide, I’ll highlight some of my personal favourite products which I think make great gifts.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro

If you know someone who’s a big music fan, then you can consider getting them a good pair of studio headphones. Beyerdynamic’s DT 770 Pro is a great mid-range headphone that’s both comfortable and well-built. Coming in at RM699, it provides great value for the money. If you want something cheaper, you could go for Audio Technica M40Xs which are priced at RM399 and still provide a relatively flat response.

Apple Watch SE GPS, 44mm

As an Apple user myself, I have unfortunately been taken in by the Apple ecosystem. Someone generously got me an Apple Watch as a gift a couple of years ago and I’ve been using it every day since. The SE model seems like a good option for gifting as it’s cheaper than the flagship models while still keeping health tracking features like heart rate monitoring.

I warned you that we were going left-field. After seeing the trend of putting The Rock’s face on absolutely everything, I decided to download a 3D model and got it printed. The service I used is called B3D Online, and they allowed me to get it for about RM40. I think 3D printed models would make a nice and thoughtful gift, especially if you model it yourself.

Salixium COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Home Test Kit

Apart from being the most refined self-test kit in Malaysia right now (according to Alex), Salixium’s COVID-19 test kit makes a great gift because it shows that you care. Priced at only RM9.90, you could get a bunch of these and give them away for the holiday season, especially if you’re travelling. There are also cheaper ones available too, such as the RM4.90 Alltest kit. This Christmas, have fun with your loved ones but be sure to stay safe as well!
