Huawei announced new models in the MateBook D series during a recent global launch event in Dubai. The new Huawei MateBook D 16 retains some features from the 2022 model, while getting updates, including Intel’s 13th-generation processors.
For the first time, the MateBook D series sees the high-end Core i9 processor as an option for customers to choose from. Unfortunately, this year there is only one colour option – Silver.
Huawei MateBook D 16 (2024) Specifications
The Huawei MateBook D 16 retains the same 16-inch HUAWEI FullView Display as the previous model, with a screen-to-body ratio up to 90%. What Huawei managed to achieve with the new model is a reduction of weight to 1.68KG (it was 1.7KG last year) and still have a 180-degree opening screen. The screen is still a 16:10 aspect ratio so that more content can be shown on screen.
Huawei’s Super Device features such as Multi-device Collaboration, Huawei Share, Personal Voice Enhancement, Smart Conference including AI Camera, AI Sound Effects, and Smart Voice is also included in the MateBook D 16.
A new option for the laptop this year is the 13th-gen Intel Core i9 H-series processor, alongside 13th-gen Intel Core i7 and i5 H-series processors. The 13th-gen processors also feature Intel’s Iris Xe graphics on board.

- CPU Intel Core i5-13500H + GPU Intel Iris Xe

- CPU Intel Core i5-12450H + GPU Intel UHD
Consumers can choose up to 1TB of NVMe SSD and 16GB of RAM. There are also two battery capacities available – 55Wh and 70Wh which Huawei claims can last up to 15 hours on a single charge.
Other notable features includes the Huawei Metaline antenna which claims it can reach up to 270 meters for WiFi, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, full-service USB-C port, two USB-A port and a full size HDMI port. Also, you get a 3.5mm audio jack.
