This post is brought to you by CIMB.

CIMB has officially introduced OCTO Collect, an all-in-one payment platform developed for omnichannel merchants and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The new merchant solution was showcased during the final stop of the CIMB OCTOFest 2026 tour at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), Kuala Lumpur.

How CIMB OCTO Collect Works

Traditionally, accepting debit and credit cards, FPX online banking, and multiple eWallets required merchants to manage separate integrations, deal with different providers, and juggle multiple settlement portals.

OCTO Collect eliminates this backend fragmentation by bundling these payment options into a single Application Programming Interface (API). This allows businesses to integrate once and offer a faster, unified checkout experience, giving customers their choice of payment method through a single, consistent screen.

On the operations side, the service includes an integrated sales dashboard that pulls all payment activities into one centralised view. Business owners can review incoming payments, track authorised sales, and monitor month-to-date performance in real time without manually reconciling reports across separate platforms.

CIMB has set a targeted implementation timeline of one to three months for businesses to get fully onboarded and go live.

According to the bank, consolidating onboarding and technical setup under one roof significantly cuts down administrative coordination, helping merchants start processing digital payments sooner than conventional multi-provider deployments.

Showcased Alongside OCTOFest 2026

The platform was introduced during the conclusion of OCTOFest 2026 at Lalaport BBCC, which CIMB states is its largest festival tour to date.

Alongside showcasing OCTO Collect, the bank highlighted that it integrated cashless payment solutions across all participating vendors throughout the tour in Penang, Kuantan, Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur.

According to figures shared by CIMB, the four-city tour engaged 255 MSME vendors and recorded close to 100,000 visitors, generating approximately RM1 million in sales opportunities for participating local businesses.

Toni Darusman, Group Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of CIMB, noted that expanding the festival beyond the Klang Valley aimed to give local businesses broader market visibility while promoting digital commerce adoption.

“Beyond celebrating local culture, food, wellness and music, OCTOFest serves as a platform for small local businesses to showcase their products and services, expand their customer base and embrace digital commerce,” Darusman said.

On-Ground Activations at LaLaport BBCC

For festival-goers at LaLaport BBCC, the consumer side of the event featured local entertainment, food bazaars, and lifestyle pop-ups.

The entertainment roster across the tour featured local acts such as ALPHA, OAG, Ruffedge, Blues Gang, Fynn Jamal, Scha Nuril, Sai, Vikram, and Danny Khoo. Attendees also had access to fitness sessions, including Zumba, Fun Run, and HIIT workouts led by Malaysian personalities Syafiq Kyle and Meerqeen.

The festival grounds also housed the Mission Happiness interactive installation, featuring a giant OCTO phone setup where visitors and CIMB OCTO App users could complete challenges to unlock rewards valued at up to RM85,000.
