You can still apply to work at Malaysia’s first Apple Store

We’ve heard rumours of Malaysia getting its first Apple Store for a while now, and today Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple has posted job postings on its careers page. This is the biggest smoking gun that Apple is bringing its retail operations to the country, instead of relying on its network of resellers as it has done for decades.

To be clear, these are the same jobs that we included in our report last month, detailing the clear signs of an upcoming Apple Store. The dates have been changed to today, but that might be because the company refreshes the dates every day to keep them at the top of the list.

The key here is that these positions are still open. Which means you—yes, you reading this article here—still have the chance to work at the new Malaysian Apple Store when it finally launches. Whenever that may be.

Apple Retail lists the same 11 positions for the location, including a manager and senior manager, a store leader, an operations expert to keep things running smoothly, a “business pro” and business expert for dealing with corporate customers, a technical specialist, retail experts and specialists and, yes, even a Genius. The company is also looking for creatives to host workshops for visitors at the site.

The first Apple Store in Malaysia will likely be located at the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), where a giant illuminated Apple logo has allegedly been spotted amongst scaffolding. It will almost certainly be housed at The Exchange TRX, an upcoming mall located adjacent to the The Exchange 106 skyscraper. However, the development is only expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of the year, so it might be a while yet before you too can wear the iconic blue T-shirt.

If and when Malaysia gets the Apple Store, it will be the third in the Southeast Asian region to offer Cupertino’s retail experience, after Singapore and Thailand. The latter have three and two stores respectively.
