Is this a sign that Malaysia will finally have an Apple Store next year?

If you’re an Apple fan, you might lament the fact that Malaysia doesn’t have it’s own Apple Store, with customers instead needing to rely on their authorised retailers such as Machines, who have an Apple Premium Partner Store here instead. However, all signs seem to hint at there finally being an Apple Store in Malaysia very soon.

The rumours first started earlier this week, when Twitter user Fazli Halim shared a picture on the social media platform depicting what appears to be work being done at a future Apple Store at the Tun Razak Exchange complex, or TRX for short. It shows staff working on a brightly lit Apple logo while surrounded by scaffolding:

However, we now have even stronger evidence that an Apple Store will be opened at TRX soon, and it comes from Apple themselves. As first spotted by Twitter user Nazri Ishak, Apple is now recruiting a total of 11 positions for Apple Retail jobs such as a store leader, manager, technical specialist and yes, they’re even on the look out for an Apple Genius.

In fact, rumours of an Apple Store being opened at TRX first cropped up last year, when it was reported that Apple Retail Store representatives were in Malaysia to talk to the management of TRX over a possible Apple Store in Malaysia. It’s expected to be located at The Exchange TRX, the lifestyle and retail area of TRX.

If and when an Apple Store does launch in Malaysia though, it would be the sixth Apple Store in the region, behind Singapore and Thailand, who have three and two Apple Stores respectively.
