Xiaomi smart home appliances 2022 Malaysia: Price and spec roundup

Earlier this week, Xiaomi Malaysia launched a series of new smart home products designed to expand Internet of Things (IoT) functionality to more areas of your house. There were no less than eight appliances introduced at the event, including affordable smart TVs, a smart speaker with an IR blaster and even an air fryer that you can control using the Google Assistant. Watch the video below to find out more about these devices.

The star of the show is the Xiaomi TV A2, an entry-level Android TV priced at RM999 for the 38-inch HD model, RM1,299 for the 43-inch Full HD model and RM2,799 for the 58-inch 4K model. No matter which variant you buy, you get metal bezels, Dolby Audio support and the Google Assistant, along with the Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube apps pre-installed.

The A2 will go on sale tomorrow in time for the 9/9 sale, during which you can purchase the 38- and 43-inch versions for RM799 and RM1,099 respectively, while the 58-inch model comes with a free 23.8-inch monitor. All these deals can be had from the official Lazada and Shopee stores and authorised Xiaomi retail outlets.

Xiaomi also took the time to introduce its latest wireless earbuds, the Redmi Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. Both models feature 10mm drivers, but the Pro gain a second 6mm driver for treble noise, improved active noise cancellation performance and support for Sony’s lossless LDAC audio codec. They also have a better battery life of a whopping nine hours, which expands to 36 hours with the case included.

The Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are priced at RM239 and RM369 respectively and will also go on sale tomorrow. Every purchase of the Buds 4 made until September 16 will come with free Redmi Buds 3 Lite, while the Buds 4 Pro will ship with a pair of Buds 3 Pro instead.

Another new product is the Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control which, as the name suggests, incorporates an IR blaster to control “dumb” household appliances like TVs and air-cons using the Google Assistant; it goes on sale on September 16 priced at RM199. There’s also a Mi Camera 2K, a CCTV with support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa control, video call capabilities and a magnetic mount that swivels around the camera’s rounded back. This one can be purchased starting tomorrow and is priced at RM119.

But what if you want to light up your house? That’s where the Mi Smart LED Ceiling Light comes in – available from September 16 priced at RM399, it’s a white lamp that supports Apple HomeKit integration along with the usual Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

You can even get a Mi Smart Air Fryer 3.5L, which lets you start and stop the cooking process using the Google Assistant and access over 100 recipes on the Xiaomi Home app. It’s on sale right now at RM359, but if you can wait until tomorrow, you can get it for just RM299 until September 16.

Last but not least are two products for the bathroom. The RM429 Xiaomi Electric Toothbrush T700 has three brushing modes and durations that you can choose in the Xiaomi Home app, plus a dot-matrix display that will even show you emojis. The RM259 Mi Ionic Hair Dryer H500, on the other hand, does not have smart capabilities but has a 1,800W and features “double water ion therapy” to lock in natural hair moisture and prevent frizziness and split ends. These devices will be offered starting tomorrow and September 16 respectively.

Again, all these products listed here can be purchased on the official Lazada and Shopee stores and authorised Xiaomi retail outlets – including the aforementioned promos. That is, except for the free earbuds that come with the Reds Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro, which are Lazada and Shopee exclusives.
