If you’ve purchased the previous RM599 AirAsia ASEAN Unlimited Pass a year ago, AirAsia has provided another 3-month extension until June 2022. This allows pass holders who can’t travel earlier due to COVID-19 lockdowns to resume their holiday plans around the Southeast Asia region.
According to AirAsia, the pass holders will have their redemption period extended from 12th March 2022 to 12th June 2022, and they can use it to buy flights for the travel period up to 26th June 2022. According to the FAQ, pass holders can use it to redeem point-to-point flights within Malaysia as well as international flights across ASEAN (Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei) operated by AirAsia Malaysia’s AK code only.
Commenting on the extension, AirAsia SuperApp CEO Amanda Woo said “We are always committed to provide value and convenience to our guests and app users, and this three-month extension is a testament towards that commitment. With our Malaysian borders reopening on 1 April, we would like to thank all of the pass holders for their support and hope that they are able to use this three-month validity extension to enjoy the privileges of the Asean Unlimited pass. We are continuously looking into new and innovative products to introduce to the market which can facilitate convenient and affordable travel across the region. We have an exciting product coming up and we look forward to sharing it with everyone soon.”
However, there’s still no update for the first RM499 AirAsia X unlimited pass which offers unlimited flights for international routes operated by AirAsia X. The medium to long-haul low-cost carrier has recently resumed passenger service with flights to Sydney after a debt restructuring exercise. In September 2021, AirAsia had offered RM399 AirAsia Cuti-Cuti Malaysia pass holders one additional free return flight, which can be redeemed for the travel period until June 2022.
In conjunction with Malaysia’s international border reopening, AirAsia has introduced its new Super+ pass which provides unlimited travel within ASEAN with COVID-19 pre-departure coverage protection and unlimited food deliveries for RM639. There are 200,000 passes up for grabs and it is offered in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
