The government is tightening the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) by reducing the operating hours for public transportation. All forms of public transport will only operate between 6am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm. This new schedule will take effect until 31st March 2020.

According to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, public transportation is only needed by workers travelling to and from work and it is difficult to maintain the one-metre social-distancing order in public transportation.

9am – 10am: 30-minute frequency

5pm – 7pm: 10-minute frequency (peak hours)
7pm – 10pm: 30-minute frequency

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays
6am – 10am: 30-minute frequency
5pm – 10pm: 30-minute frequency

All stage buses such as Rapid KL, Rapid Penang, Rapid Kuantan, Rapid Kamunting and Rapid Manjung will also be operating from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm.

Feri Pulau Pinang which is operated by Rapid Ferry will only operate a single ferry every hour between 6am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm.

The Minister also added that e-hailing operators are still allowed to operate as usual. He also reminded that e-hailing drivers should continue to follow safety precautions and the social distancing order.
