Samsung Pay has finally gone live for Malaysian consumers today, and along with the new payment service are a handful of promos and cashbacks to entice people to give it a try.

In a nutshell Samsung Pay takes the bulk out of your wallet by eliminating the need for you to actually carry your physical cards. This extends to loyalty cards too, which includes the 7-11 Bcard, BonusLink, Caltex Journey Card, Sunway Pals Loyalty and U Mobile’s U Card. The full list can be viewed here.

Also, in conjunction with the event, there will be a handful of promos available from the various banks and brands already connected to Samsung Pay, including daily giveaways for those visiting the KLCC experiential zone. You can also get up to RM100 cashback for Standard Chatered credit card purchases (until 30 April) as well as Sakae Sushi E-Vouchers and a Samsung Gear S3 from Citibank (until 25 March) just to name a few.

As of the moment Samsung Pay accepts most of the major credit cards in use in Malaysia, accepting cards from CIMB (Mastercard only), Citi (Mastercard and Visa), Maybank (Visa only) and Standard Chartered (Mastercard and Visa). But if you want to use a debit card, the only you have for now is Maybank (Visa). Hong Leong bank will be on board in the very near future.

Also, Samsung Pay is availble to anyone who owns a supported device from the brand. Users who own the Samsung Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Galaxy A5/A7 2016 or Galaxy A5/A7 2017 should be able to use Samsung Pay once you’ve updated your software.

You simply need to add a card on Samsung Pay and enable fingerprint/pin authentication. For a one-time activation, your bank may send a TAC verification code to your mobile number. After that, you’re ready to roll.

If you want to check out the promos and other goodies for yourself, the KLCC experiential zone will be open till 28 February 2017 or visit the main site for more details.
