Samsung Pay is now accepting more credit cards in Malaysia ahead of its official launch that’s happening tomorrow. Initially available only for Maybank Visa credit, debit and prepaid cards, Samsung Pay supports more payment card options from CIMB, Citi and Standard Chartered.

According to the updated Samsung Pay page for Malaysia, it now accepts credit cards issued from CIMB (Mastercard only), Citi (Mastercard and Visa), Maybank (Visa only) and Standard Chartered (Mastercard and Visa). If you’re holding a debit card, unfortunately, it only supports Maybank (Visa) for now.

It also appears that Samsung Pay is now available for everyone if you own a supported device from Samsung Malaysia. Users of the Samsung Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Galaxy A5/A7 2016 or Galaxy A5/A7 2017 should be able to use Samsung Pay once you’ve updated your software. To get started, you’ll need to add a card on Samsung Pay and enable fingerprint/pin authentication. For a one-time activation, your bank may send a TAC verification code to your mobile number.

To reduce the bulk from your wallet further, Samsung Pay also accepts loyalty cards in Malaysia. This includes 7-11 Bcard, BonusLink, Caltex Journey Card, Sunway Pals Loyalty and U Mobile’s U Card. For more info, you can check out the Samsung Pay page.

Thanks Aizzamil Rushaidir and @seowtc for the tip!
