The OnePlus 2 is heading to Malaysia soon. If you’re wondering how easy it is to repair, we turn to the dismantling experts at iFixit.

Most unibody smart phones these days are quite complicated to dismantle and it is common to see them using tons of adhesive and proprietary screws that would require special tools. But not with the OnePlus 2.

With its replaceable sandstone back cover taken out, the back plate is held together with standard Phillips screws. The non-removable 3,300mAh battery is kept in place with a little adhesive and it shouldn’t pose much problems if you need to replace it. The rest of the components such as the camera module and the USB Type C port are modular, making replacements an easy task.

Probably the only difficulty would be the display as the IPS LCD is fused together with the glass. So if you’ve cracked your screen, you would need to replace the whole piece which can be quite costly. Overall iFixit rates the OnePlus 2 with a repairability score of 7/10, which is easier than the first OnePlus One that scored 5/10. As comparison, the Galaxy S6 scored 4/10, while the HTC One M9 did badly at just 2/10.
