The unconfirmed Galaxy Tab 10.1 plans is finally confirmed! To recap, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is bundled with Broadband Basic and Broadband Advance with RM68 and RM98 monthly subscription fee respectively. The subsidy amount isn’t really that much and you’re only getting between RM321 – RM431 worth of savings from its RM1,899 RRP.

There’s an upfront payment of RM150 which RM10 be rebated back to your bill over 12 months. If you do the math, that’s only RM120. According to the T&C, the balance RM30 will not be refunded as it is charged as registration fee. To save further, auto-payment via credit card gives you 5% rebate each month, which makes it RM65/month for Basic and RM93/month for Advanced. For any reasons that you would want to terminate the contract, a penalty of RM500 will be charged. On the broadband plans, Celcom Broadband Basic of 4GB fair use offer speeds up to 1.5Mbps while the Advanced plan offer speeds up to 3.6Mbps.

Some might wonder, is it worth it to queue up for the RM999 firesale and terminate the contract immediately? If you do the math, the upfront fee and penalty costs (RM150 + RM500), which makes it RM650 required upfront. So total with the RM999, that’s RM1649 which is RM250 savings compared to buying it outright. Of course, if you’re lucky enough to get it for RM99, that’s a total savings of RM1150 (paying only RM750 for the Galaxy Tab 10.1).

Good luck to those lining up for their Galaxy Tab 10.1 tomorrow.
