U Mobile has announced the formation of an advisory panel for its upcoming Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP), an initiative that aims to bring together enterprises, startups, technology providers, academia and ecosystem partners to test and develop 5G and AI-powered solutions to solve real-world business challenges.

According to U Mobile, the panel will help guide the development of the platform by providing strategic insights into enterprise requirements, priority innovation areas and commercially relevant use cases before the EIP officially launches later this month.

The Enterprise Innovation Platform is described as an open innovation environment where organisations can collaborate to explore, test and develop new technologies using U Mobile’s ULTRA5G network. To focus beyond experimentation and pilot initiatives, the platform aims to help organisations move towards scalable, real-world applications.

Advisory panel comprises leaders from SME, smart city and AI organisations

The inaugural EIP advisory panel consists of four industry leaders:

  • Dr Chin Chee Seong, National President of the SME Association of Malaysia
  • Ts. Dr Raslan Ahmad, Chairman of the Malaysia Smart City Alliance Association (MSCA)
  • Datin Dr Ts. Habsah Nordin, President of Data Management Association (DAMA) Malaysia Chapter
  • Ts. Tan Aik Keong, Founding Member of Konsortium AI Negara (KAIN)

According to U Mobile, the industry experts will be able to provide perspectives on priority innovation areas, emerging enterprise needs and opportunities for ecosystem development.

U Mobile Chief Technology Officer Woon Ooi Yuen said, “U Mobile is a strong believer that innovation today is increasingly driven by collaboration across industries, technologies and disciplines. Through the Enterprise Innovation Platform, we aim to create an environment where enterprises, technology providers, startups and academia can come together to explore new ideas and develop practical solutions for real business challenges.”

He added, “The Advisory Panel is an important component of the EIP ecosystem. Beyond providing industry perspectives, the collective experience of our advisors will help strengthen how the platform identifies meaningful innovation opportunities, facilitates collaboration and supports the development of practical use cases. As EIP enters its next phase, these insights will be invaluable in helping us build stronger pathways from co-creation and experimentation to enterprise adoption and real-world impact.”

Enterprise Innovation Platform to launch later in July

The establishment of the advisory panel marks another step in U Mobile’s Enterprise Innovation Platform ahead of its official launch later in July 2026.

Besides enterprises, the platform is intended to connect technology providers, startups, academia and ecosystem partners to develop solutions powered by technologies such as 5G-Advanced, artificial intelligence and next-generation digital infrastructure. U Mobile says further details, including participating ecosystem partners and upcoming initiatives, will be announced closer to the platform’s launch.
