The good looking honor 8 is now even affordable as it gets a price reduction in Malaysia. The device is often seen as a “budget-friendly” alternative to last year’s Huawei P9 as it comes with almost similar specs including a dual 12MP camera setup at the rear.

During its launch, the honor 8 was originally priced at RM1,699 for the 32GB storage model and RM1,899 for the 64GB storage option. Now you can get the 32GB model at RM1,399 or double the storage at RM1,599.

To refresh your memory, the honor 8 has a 5.2″ Full HD display encased in a premium glass and metal body. Unlike the Huawei P series that came with a metal back, the rear of the honor 8 uses all-glass with a reflective material underneath which looks stunning when light is reflected.

Under the hood, it runs on a Kirin 950 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM. If you need more storage, you can add more via microSD with its hybrid dual-SIM tray. For imaging, it gets a pair of 12MP main cameras with dedicated RGB and monochrome sensors. For selfies, it features an 8MP camera in front with a host of beautification features.

The honor 8 is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and it supports 9V 2A fast charging via USB Type-C. The device was initially released with Android 6.0 but now it runs on a newer Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0. To learn more, do check out our full review of the honor 8. For those looking for something newer that’s also bigger in size, you might want to consider the honor 8 Pro that’s priced at RM1,999.

If you’re interested, you can get the honor 8 online where some retailers are offering it slightly lower than its official price.
