TNG eWallet has introduced a new overseas ride-hailing feature which allows Malaysians to book and pay for rides in 47 countries directly from the app.
This means you can book rides from popular providers such as DiDi Travel, AMap, Bolt, Lyft and Kakao T without having to download a separate ride-hailing app.
The new feature is powered by Alipay+ and it supports over 12,000 cities worldwide, including popular destinations such as Japan, South Korea and China.
Best of all, you can pay for your overseas rides in Ringgit Malaysia using your existing TNG eWallet balance.
TNG eWallet overseas ride-hailing supported countries and providers

The overseas ride-hailing feature connects TNG eWallet users to several local ride-hailing providers depending on their destination.
Here are some of the supported countries and their respective ride-hailing services:
- European Union – Bolt
- United States and Canada – Lyft
- Japan – GO
- South Korea – Kakao T
- China – DiDi Travel and AMap
According to TNG Digital, users can choose from multiple ride-hailing providers where available, without having to download or switch between different apps.
The app also displays fares upfront before confirming a booking, while trip details and transaction records can be accessed directly within TNG eWallet.
Since payments are made using your existing TNG eWallet balance in RM, you won’t need to set up a separate overseas payment method or convert funds just to book a ride.
How to book overseas rides using TNG eWallet

To book a ride overseas, open TNG eWallet and search for “Ride Hailing Overseas“.
From there, select your pickup and drop-off locations, choose your preferred ride-hailing service and vehicle type, and review the fare before confirming your booking.
Once your booking is confirmed, you can view the driver’s details and ride information within the app.

Meanwhile, for those travelling to China, there’s also the DiDi Travel mini-app within TNG eWallet.
First-time users will need to complete a one-time registration using their Malaysian mobile number (+60) before booking a ride.

Both DiDi and AMAP mini-apps in TNG eWallet comes in both English & Chinese interfaces. To view China services, switch the country toggle on the top left to China homepage and it will display the local CNY current and Chinese-related services as shown above.
TNG eWallet is also offering 50% off voucher for your first ride via AMAPS.
The new feature expands TNG eWallet’s existing travel services, which include overseas QR payments, travel-related deals and eSIM plans.

According to TNG Digital, approximately 35% of TNG eWallet users have already used at least one travel-related service within the app.
TNG Digital CEO Alan Ni said, “Malaysians are already using TNG eWallet to prepare and pay for their trips. Overseas ride-hailing addresses one of the first practical needs after they land: getting around without setting up another app or payment method. This is another step in building TNG eWallet into a more connected travel companion for Malaysians.”
Meanwhile, Ant International General Manager of Alipay+ Travel Solutions, Scarlett Xing said, “Alipay+ is making mobile experiences borderless, enabling consumers to access the services they need through the apps they already know and trust. By connecting our partners to a broader ecosystem of services, we’re turning their apps into intelligent gateways to the world, where AI and interoperability bring consumers closer to the right services and merchants, at the right moment, wherever they are.”

Beyond cross-border QR payments, TNG eWallet also offers a Travel Visa Card that’s linked to your eWallet balance. The card offers zero FX markup fees, one free ATM withdrawal per month and up to 3% cashback for overseas spending. The cashback is also applicable when you link the card to Alipay and WeChat Pay, and make a payment in China.
