Honda Malaysia has confirmed via an official press statement that the E variant of the newly launched Honda City 2026 facelift is equipped with a rear drum brake system. This contradicts the initial specifications sheet, which listed the rear setup as solid disc brakes.

The discrepancy came to light after a customer shared on social media that he rejected his newly delivered unit due to the mismatch. To back up the claim, the customer posted a photo of the physical spec sheet, which clearly listed solid discs instead of drum brakes.

In response, Honda Malaysia stated that it has reached out to the affected customer and resolved the issue cordially.

The automaker added that it immediately halted the distribution of all inaccurate marketing materials upon discovering the error. Honda Malaysia is currently updating both physical dealership brochures and digital materials across its online platforms to reflect the correct specifications.

The new Honda City 2026 facelift – the variant shown here is the highest-end RS e: HEV.
