If you’re thinking of ordering a brand new Tesla, you’ll have to pay a bit more as Tesla Malaysia has increased the prices for the Model 3 and Model Y.
The price hike is quite minor as it ranges between RM1,400 to RM3,000, depending on the model and variant.
Nope, the price increase doesn’t seem to be due to MITI’s new CBU EV ruling. Other possible factors may include supply and demand, or due to the recent global RAM shortage which has affected the tech industry.

With the new price update, the Model 3 now starts from RM149,000 while the Model Y starts from RM198,000.
Here’s the latest pricing including the previous pricing before the update:
Tesla Model 3
- RWD – RM149,000 (Previously RM147,600) +RM1,400
- Premium RWD – RM171,000 (Previously RM169,000) +RM2,000
- Premium Long Range RWD – RM187,000 (Previously RM185,000) +RM2,000
- Performance AWD – RM232,000 (Previously RM229,000) +RM3,000
Tesla Model Y
- Premium RWD – RM198,000 (Previously RM195,450) +RM2,550

Tesla Model Y L
- Premium AWD – RM263,000 (Previously RM260,000) +RM3,000
For the cheapest Tesla Model 3 RWD (“Rahmah”), the price increase is only 0.95%. Meanwhile, the other variants including Model 3 Performance and Model Y L are getting a hike of about 1.15% to 1.31%.

Besides the pricing of the vehicle, everything else remains unchanged.
Tesla still maintains the same pricing for the customisable add-ons such as exterior colour, wheels, interior and enhanced autopilot packages.
For those who configure their brand new Tesla Model 3, the estimated delivery time is 2-3 months for both Standard and Premium RWD models, and 3-4 months for the Premium Long Range RWD and Performance AWD.
If you customise your Tesla Model Y, estimated delivery time is about 1-2 months for the Premium RWD or 3-4 months for the Premium Long Range RWD and Model Y L AWD.

With the latest price revision, Tesla EVs still remain one of the more affordable options under RM200,000, and it is currently the only brand to be able to do so without any intention for CKD production in Malaysia.
Under the new CBU EV ruling, all imported EVs must have a minimum CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) value of RM200,000 and have a minimum power output of 180kW, effective 1st July 2026.
The base model Tesla Model 3 RWD is still priced under RM150,000 and it is one of the most value buy sedans right now, undercutting competitors such as the Honda Civic.
According to JPJ’s vehicle registration last month, June was a record month for Tesla in 2026 with a total of 935 registrations. For 2026 so far, Tesla is current at #5 with a total of 1962 units registered so far. This includes 1,001 units of the Model Y and 961 units of the Model 3.
