Perodua has implemented a price cut on its most affordable model, the Perodua Axia. Effective immediately, the 2nd generation Perodua Axia, which was originally introduced in February 2023, can now be obtained with a starting price of RM33,900.

New Perodua Axia Pricing

So, how much savings are we talking about with the new pricing for the Perodua Axia? Well, here’s the price list for Peninsular Malaysia:

  • Perodua Axia 1.0 G: RM33,900 (Original: RM38,600 -> RM4,700 savings)
  • Perodua Axia 1.0 X: RM38,500 (Original: RM40,000 -> RM1,500 savings)
  • Perodua Axia 1.0 SE: RM43,000 (Original: RM44,000-> RM1,700 savings)
  • Perodua Axia 1.0 AV: RM49,000 (Original: RM49,500 -> RM500 savings)

Over in East Malaysia, here’s how the pricing looks:

  • Perodua Axia 1.0 G: RM35,900 (Original: RM40,600)
  • Perodua Axia 1.0 X: RM38,500 (Original: RM42,000)
  • Perodua Axia 1.0 SE: RM45,000 (Original: RM46,000)
  • Perodua Axia 1.0 AV: RM51,000 (Original: RM51,500)

No changes to the Axia specs

Despite the price cut, Perodua said that no changes have been made to the Axia specifications and quality standards. The price cut was mainly made possible through operational efficiencies, according to the national automaker.

“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians. The new pricing also reflects our ongoing efforts to further improve our operational effectiveness, which has similarly translated into reduced service costs and revised pricing for the QV-E and Battery as a Service (BaaS) offerings.

The revised pricing is the outcome of sustained, continuous improvement initiatives undertaken in close collaboration with our local suppliers and partners within the automotive ecosystem. We thank them (vendors and dealers) for extending their full cooperation in enhancing cost efficiency for the collective benefit of the industry and, by extension, all Malaysians.” – Zainal Abidin Ahmad, President & CEO, Perodua.

However, there is no price reduction for the Axia E, which continues to be available at RM22,000. Also fondly nicknamed by many as the Axia Rahmah, the most basic variant of Axia is actually a 1st generation model.

While it has long been rumoured that the Axia E is going to be discontinued, there is still no official indication that going to happen anytime soon. At this point in time, the Axia Rahmah is still being listed on Perodua’s official website.
