OPPO Malaysia has officially expanded its mid-range lineup in the country with the introduction of the new Reno16 Series. Comprising three distinct variants, the Reno16 Pro, Reno16, and Reno16 F, the lineup aims to blend premium aesthetic design with hardware performance and localised AI intelligence.

For digital natives and mobile creators looking to capture dynamic moments effortlessly, the flagship of the family, the OPPO Reno16 Pro 5G, focuses heavily on streamlining content creation workflows.
3D Optical Tricks and a Physical Shortcut Key

On the design front, the Reno16 Pro manages a compelling engineering balance by packing a massive-capacity battery into a compact, pocket-friendly form factor. It features an aerospace-grade aluminium frame that provides structural rigidity, delivering high yield strength against drops and bending damage.

The standout aesthetic feature belongs to the Pop White variant, which debuts OPPO’s 3D Pop Planet Design. Rather than utilising a flat print or sticker, the back cover incorporates unique HoloVerse 3D Technology. This structure stacks a graphic pattern layer beneath a substrate and a microlens array containing millions of tiny lenses that act as microscopic projectors.

According to OPPO, these lenses redirect light rays to form a naked-eye 3D planet that appears to hover across a continuous depth of 5mm to 15mm above the physical surface. The planet casts a real physical shadow that actively shifts as you tilt the phone against ambient light, giving it a continuous depth from any viewpoint.

Because the 3D depth effect relies heavily on directional light, it is highly recommended to experience this unique design firsthand at a physical store to see how the planet shifts under real-world lighting.

For those who prefer a more understated look, the Starlight Black variant features a seamless, one-piece, cold-sculpted glass body that blends matte and glossy textures around the camera module.

For the first time on a Reno series device, OPPO has added a dedicated hardware shortcut button on the side called the AI Snap Key. It supports multiple customisable interactions to bypass multi-step menus, allowing a short-press to capture the screen, a long-press to record quick voice memos, and a double-tap to open the Mind Space repository.

Beyond memory functions, the key integrates various system features that can be deeply tailored to personal usage habits, enabling complex multi-step operations to be completed with a single tap.
The OPPO Bubble: A Magnetic Multi-Tool for Selfies

Alongside the phone, OPPO is highlighting a specialised lifestyle accessory called the OPPO Bubble. Weighing just 27.5g, this magnetic attachment snaps onto the phone case and operates wirelessly over Bluetooth.

When attached, it acts as a secondary 1.73-inch AMOLED display that mirrors the preview of the phone’s rear cameras, allowing you to maintain perfect composition and framing while utilising the superior rear sensors for high-quality selfies or vlogs. You can also detach the Bubble and hold it in your hand to check expressions and trigger the camera shutter wirelessly from up to 10 meters away, simplifying group photos or solo tripod setups.

When you aren’t shooting, it converts into a personalised Vibe E-Badge on the back of your phone. It can display a favourite photo, pet picture, mood memes, or short 5-second looping videos to express your personality on the move, and it can even be unclipped and attached to a bag as a trendy accessory.
Camera System: Built for Gimbal-Free 4K Creation

OPPO positions the Reno16 Pro as an all-in-one camera replacement for creators.

The physical hardware configuration is powerful, headlined by a massive 200MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera using a Samsung S5KHP5 sensor. This sensor allows you to crop deep or zoom into an image without losing sharpness, letting you shoot once and reframe multiple compositions later.

For portraiture, it includes a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto camera with a 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, which mimics a classic 85mm portrait lens designed to isolate your subject with natural background bokeh.
On the front, a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera features a 100-degree field of view, which is among the widest in the industry. By utilising the 0.6x Golden Selfie Angle, the lens naturally enhances facial proportions, making the face look slimmer and smaller while capturing more of the background for immersive solo vlogs or group shots.

For mobile vloggers, the device features 4K Horizon Steady Video through its 4K Auto Straighten Video mode. The system delivers ultra-smooth, level 4K footage by automatically compensating for camera shake, tilt, and rotation up to 5 degrees. Whether you are recording one-handed on the move, walking briskly through travel destinations, or filming at a loud concert, the horizon stays stable and distortion-free without needing a heavy physical gimbal.

Creators can also leverage Dual-View Video 2.0 to capture high-quality video from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously with improved stabilisation on both sides.
The native camera application includes several software tools designed to speed up creative workflows directly on-device. For cinematic motion, the 4K Motion Photo feature allows users to capture fluid video and cleanly extract crisp, high-quality motion shots at up to 4K 60fps HDR.

The built-in Pop Cam mode brings instant vintage aesthetics without extra editing by offering nine curated presets. Creators can choose styles like Digicam, Instant Film, or Light Leak to recreate retro CCD glow, instant-film colour, and analogue light-leak grain effects across photos or motion photos.

This is supported by AI Flash Photography 3.0, which offers three adaptive flash levels (Soft, Auto, and Contrast) to balance skin tones and subject brightness against ambient background lighting in dark cafés, backlit outdoor scenes, or neon streets.

For playful edits, AI Remix Collage lets you cut out still or moving subjects from your photos or videos and save them as reusable animated stickers. Finally, Popout 2.0 features enhanced frame-breaking effects, allowing selected subjects like people, pets, architecture, or vehicles to visually break out of the collage frame boundaries in any direction.
Flagship Durability and Hybrid AI

Under the hood, the OPPO Reno16 Pro runs the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super Platform, a 4nm processor paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a HyperCool Vapor Chamber to sustain ultra-smooth, stable frame rates during heavy gaming or rendering sessions.

The phone features an exceptionally large 6,700mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, and when you run low, the included 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge brings you back online rapidly.
To ensure long-term reliability, the phone comes with a 6-Year Fluency Authentication, guaranteeing the operating system remains smooth and responsive over years of daily usage cycles.

It also carries top-tier IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance, protecting the hardware against everything from heavy downpours to high-pressure hot water sprays.

Connectivity is reinforced by AI LinkBoost 4.0, which amplifies weak signals and intelligently switches networks to reduce latency and maintain stable upload speeds in crowded spaces like concerts or cafes.

The software experience on ColorOS 16 centres heavily around the updated AI Mind Space hub. This includes AI Mind Pilot, a tool that coordinates natively with Google Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT simultaneously.

It draws upon saved context in your Mind Space to handle complex queries, allowing you to query all three models at once for a side-by-side comparison of their answers within a single interface.

To manage daily logging, AI Bill Manager tracks monthly expenses seamlessly. Triggering the AI Snap Key or a swipe gesture after a digital payment logs the transaction automatically, while the camera can scan physical paper receipts to extract data and log costs in your local currency.

Travelling is also streamlined with AI Menu Translation, which translates foreign menus up to 30 times a month, providing descriptive pictures, listing ingredients or allergens, converting pricing, and reading your order aloud in the local language.
Furthermore, the O+ Connect suite introduces high-speed Touch to Share file movement directly between OPPO and iOS or iPadOS devices. On desktops, it supports deep integration via O+ Connect for Mac or Windows, allowing you to mirror your screen to control up to five phone apps simultaneously or use Remote PC Control to retrieve files from your computer while away from your desk.
OPPO Enco Air5 & Air5s
To complete the mobile production workflow, OPPO is highlighting its latest companion audio devices, the OPPO Enco Air5 and Enco Air5s. Both pairs of earbuds are styled with a trendy, comfortable design and feature capable active noise cancellation alongside punchy audio performance and long-lasting battery life.
They integrate directly with ColorOS 16’s upcoming Audio Sharing feature, which allows two pairs of Bluetooth headphones from any brand to connect to a single Reno16 Pro simultaneously.
If you and a colleague are sitting in a quiet coffee shop or on a flight reviewing a rough video cut, both of you can listen to the same audio timeline perfectly synced, while retaining independent volume controls. This feature is scheduled to roll out via an OTA update in July 2026.

Keep an eye out for local promotions and bundle deals via its official stores and authorised distribution channels.
