Setel has introduced a new Bill Payment feature on its app, allowing users to “setel” utility and other household bills directly within the platform.
According to Setel, the new feature supports 25 billers at launch, including Astro, CelcomDigi, TM, Time, U Mobile, Unifi, Yes, RedOne, Air Selangor and Indah Water. Users can pay for utilities, water, telecommunications and broadband services through a single app, with more billers expected to be added in the future.
The company said the feature is part of its broader push to expand beyond fuel payments and mobility-related services. What started as a fuel payment app has since expanded into services such as parking, EV charging, road tax renewal, insurance and motor takaful.

Setel Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin said, “At Setel, we believe technology should meaningfully improve everyday life by making essential services simpler, more accessible and well connected for the communities we serve. The introduction of ‘Bill Payment’ is another step in how we continue evolving alongside the changing needs of Malaysians, beyond mobility and into broader daily essentials. As a homegrown brand, we remain focused on building solutions that are practical, relevant and grounded in the realities of everyday living. Looking ahead, we want Setel to continue growing as a platform that supports Malaysians in more meaningful ways over time not only through innovation, but by consistently delivering experiences that create real everyday value.”
To promote the new feature, Setel is offering users 10% cashback on bill payment transactions, capped at RM10 per month. The promotion runs from 18 May until 18 July 2026.
In addition, Setel users can also earn 1 Mesra point for every RM5 spent for bill payments. Users can pay via the Setel Wallet or directly with their saved credit or debit cards.
Besides the standard app experience, Setel also highlighted that its Setel Lite app remains available for users with older Android devices or slower internet connectivity.
