Xiaomi Malaysia has started putting out teasers for its upcoming tablet under its Redmi subbrand — the Redmi Pad 2. Set to make its global debut tomorrow (5th of June, 2025), the company has confirmed that the tablet will be reaching our shores soon, albeit with no specific launch date just yet.

Redmi Pad 2 “leaked” specs

Based on teaser materials put out by Xiaomi’s global social media page, the Redmi Pad 2 will come with an 11″ 2.5K 90Hz display, a 9,000mAh battery, and a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

Unofficially, however, other leaked specs include MediaTek’s Helio G100 Ultra chipset, 18W USB-C charging, an 8MP f/2.0 rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Starting price to dip below RM1,000?

Even prices for the Redmi Pad 2 have been leaked, at least for the European market. According to sources, the 4GB+128GB model will be priced at EUR 229 (~RM1,109), while the 8GB+256GB variant is said to retail at EUR 279 (~RM1,351).

Looking at its official (and leaked) specs, the Redmi Pad 2 seems to feature rather similar capabilities to Oppo’s Pad SE, which is priced at just RM699. With that said, can we expect the Redmi’s prices to start at under RM1,000 when it reaches our shores?
