Xiaomi has launched its latest fitness tracker, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9. Malaysia is among the first international markets to receive this fitness tracker, and although it does not look like much has changed from its predecessor, the Smart Band 9 brings updates such as improved battery life and heart rate tracking.

Customers in Malaysia can get their hands on the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 starting today (15th August 2024) with a retail price of RM199. Between today and 24th August, customers who purchase the Smart Band 9 can also get it at an early bird price of just RM159, which is a RM40 discount.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 can be purchased via Xiaomi’s authorised dealers, physical Xiaomi Stores, Xiaomi Malaysia’s online store, as well as the brand’s official Lazada and Shopee stores.

Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Malaysia specifications
On the surface at least, not many differences can be spotted between the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 and the Smart Band 8. The former continues to sport a 1.62” AMOLED display on its face, but now with a higher peak display brightness of 1,200 nits.
The display has a resolution of 192×490, contributing to a pixel density of 326 ppi. Automatic brightness adjustment is available here as well, thanks to an ambient light sensor.
Xiaomi says the Smart Band 9 comes with improved heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, with the former being 16% more accurate than the Smart Band 8. Over 150 sports modes are offered to track your workouts too.
In order to support all those features, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 now comes with a longer battery life. It’s claimed to last up to 21 days on a single charge, or 9 days with always-on-display (AOD) activated. Using the provided magnetic charger, the fitness tracker’s 233mAh battery can be replenished from flat to full in just an hour.
You can also wear the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 to the swimming pool as it’s water resistant at up to 50m deep, thanks to its 5ATM rating. The Smart Band 9 can be paired with devices featuring Android 8 and above, as well as iOS 12 and above.
