Huawei Malaysia has recently announced its refreshed MateBook 16s. This is Huawei’s large-screen Windows laptop and it now runs on a 13th gen Intel Core i9 processor. The Huawei MateBook 16s is going on sale in Malaysia next week and they are bundling freebies worth up to RM1,358.

The Huawei MateBook 16s 2023 is officially priced at RM6,999 in Malaysia and it comes in a single variant with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. In terms of colours, it is only offered in Space Grey.
The Huawei MateBook 16s is going on sale nationwide from 15th July 2023. You should be able to purchase one online on the Huawei official online store as well as the official channels on Lazada and Shopee. Buyers of the laptop will receive free Microsoft 365, a Huawei Backpack and a Huawei Sound Joy speaker.
Huawei MateBook 16s 2023 Malaysia Specs
The new Huawei MateBook 16s 2023 is essentially an update of last year’s model which ran on a 12th gen Intel Core i7. The laptop features a 16″ 3:2 IPS touchscreen display that pushes a resolution of 2520×1680 pixels and a maximum brightness of 400 nits (MateBook 16s 2022: 300 nits). It has a 100% sRGB colour gamut and support for 10-point multi-touch with finger gesture screenshots.
Under the hood, it runs on a 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H processor with Intel Iris X Graphics, 16GB RAM and 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD. According to Huawei, the Core i9 processor with 14-cores and 20-threads on the MateBook 16s can push up to 60W of thermal design power (TDP) in performance mode.
It also gets a full-size backlit keyboard with 1.5mm key travel and a large touchpad with a glass surface and multi-touch support. It also gets a 1080p full HD webcam with AI-assisted conference mode, a pair of front-facing stereo speakers and also a power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor.
In terms of ports, it gets two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, two USB-C ports (One supports Thunderbolt 4), a HDMI port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The laptop also supports up to 6GHz 802.11ax WiFi 6E with 2×2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.2. For better wireless reception, the laptop boasts Huawei’s Metaline Antenna which claims to provide a smooth and stable connection for up to 270 metres away from the router.
If you have other Huawei devices, the laptop also supports “Super Device”. This allows seamless multi-screen collaboration and drag-and-drop functionality between your smartphone, tablet, laptop and Huawei Vision.
