Setel Parking now available all over Selangor with addition of Ampang Jaya

Users of Petronas’ eWallet Setel will have received a notification this morning announcing that you can now pay for street parking all throughout Selangor through the app. This is because Setel Parking, which was introduced in October, has finally become one of the approved payment methods by Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ).

The municipality joins nine others in the state, including Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Klang, Kuala Langat, Kajang, Sepang, Kuala Selangor and Selayang. Setel Parking can also be used in Teluk Intan in Perak, Kota Bharu and Machang in Kelantan and Kuala Terengganu, with Seremban said to be coming soon. Oddly, the service is not available in Kuala Lumpur.

Users can pay using the Setel app by tapping on the Parking icon on the main menu, then select “street parking”. From there, you can tap on “Park Now”, select your location on the map, choose the duration that your vehicle will be parked there and pay the fee.

Aside from street parking, Setel is also trialling ticketless automated parking payments using automated number plate recognition (ANPR). This pilot is currently available at Alamanda Shopping Centre, Kompleks Dayabumi, Suria KLCC (under maintenance), the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Permata Sapura.
