Besides supporting automated parking payment with number plate recognition, Setel also supports street parking that is managed by various city and town councils. Setel has announced that its payment app now supports street parking under Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) as well as Majlis Perbandaran Klang (MPKlang).

To pay for street parking, just launch the Setel app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Huawei AppGallery), tap on Parking on the home screen, select Street Parking and ensure that you’ve pinned at the right location. At the moment, the app supports a total of six councils which also includes Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya, Majlis Daerah Machang, Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Langat and Majlis Perbandaran Teluk Intan.

If you’ve registered your vehicle details in the app, your default vehicle should be displayed on the parking details page. For MBPJ, the parking rate is RM0.60 per hour and there’s a maximum charge of RM5 per 11 hours. The MBPJ street parking rate is applicable from 8.00am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday.

Meanwhile, MPKlang charges a rate of RM0.50 per hour and a maximum parking charge of RM3.90 per 9 hours. The parking rate is applicable from 8.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday.
