Luigi joins his brother Mario as the Lego collection’s second playable character with his own Adventures with Luigi Course (71387). And as we received the sets from Lego, we wanted to showcase how you can play them together. So, we decided to put Amin head-to-head with his children in a Lego course-building and play battle.
To recap the new Lego Luigi range, the Luigi Starter Course features the Lego version of Mario brother. It not only has the most iconic details like his green hat and outfit, but he’s also a little taller than the Lego Mario counterpart.
Luigi also gets his very own Pink Yoshi—which helps him kind of helps Luigi like in the video games. Some other details include a see-saw (which would be more fun with his brother Mario!) and purple tiles that act as toxic slime.
There are also a few additional expansion sets that launched along with his Starter Course—and they join the already huge line of sets previously introduced with the Mario Starter Course. In this video, we added the Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set (71391) and the Lakitu Sky World Expansion Set (71389).
The Lakitu set lets you place each Lego brother on either side of the Sky World set and let them fight to knock each other off, or to knock Lakitu off for extra points. The Bowser Airship set lets you play with a pirate ship, which includes a captain’s seat, front and back Bowser heads, Kamek, a Rocky Wrench and a Goomba.
Previously, we’ve built the Mario Starter Course—which was okay to play, but introducing his brother Luigi to the Lego universe really made the experience a lot more fun. I recommend getting both Starter Courses, if you can, in order to fully experience two-person play and to have fun little competitions like we did.
You can read more information about the sets here. You can also purchase the sets on Lazada, Shopee, or through Lego-certified stores in Malaysia. The Adventures with Luigi Starter Course is priced at RM259.90, the Lakitu Sky World Expansion Set is priced at RM179.90, and Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set is priced at RM499.90.
