After numerous rumours and leaks, Samsung has finally confirmed it: the Galaxy Unpacked event will be happening on the 11th of August. And based on Samsung’s announcement video, we can expect to see its next generation foldable devices at the event.
“We live in a time of accelerated change – from rapid shifts in work culture to the rise of cutting-edge communication technologies. Now more than ever, there is a need for flexible, versatile mobile devices that can keep up with the fast pace of our lives so we can maximize and enjoy every moment,” – Samsung, in their Galaxy Unpacked announcement post
We already know based on previous leaks that the Galaxy Unpacked event was set to happen on the 11th of August, and this basically made it official. With Samsung asking for us to ‘get ready to unfold’, it seems clear that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be making their debut at the upcoming event. We’ve already seen renders of the devices of course, as they’ve been leaked online last week.
Other devices that we’re expecting to see at the Galaxy Unpacked event is the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4. These would be the first two smartwatches from Samsung to feature the new Samsung One UI Watch skin over Google Wear, marking their shift away from Tizen OS. On top of that, the Korean giant is set to launch the Galaxy Buds 2 as well, their new wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation.
Those interested can tune in to Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event this August 11, 10pm Malaysian time. It’ll be broadcast on both the Samsung Newsroom and their website. For more information, you can check out their newsroom post on the Galaxy Unpacked event.
