Lenovo Malaysia has announced the arrival of its Legion Phone Duel 2. This is their gaming smartphone which goes head to head with the Asus’ ROG Phone 5 and the Black Shark 4 Pro. Besides having top-of-the-line specs, the Legion Phone Duel 2 gets a unique design with a pop-up selfie camera and the rear camera bump is positioned right smack in the middle.
Pricing and availability
The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 in Malaysia is officially priced as follows:

- 16GB RAM + 512GB storage – RM3,899
According to Lenovo, there will be a special promo for Maxis and Hotlink users between 28th June to 31st July 2021 via the Maxis and Hotlink app. With this offer, users can redeem a complimentary Lenovo 500 Bluetooth In-Ear headphones worth RM189 when they buy the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 from selected stores.
The Legion Phone Duel 2 comes with a 6.92″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that pushes a high 144Hz refresh rate and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip with 5G. Depending on markets, the device can be configured with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. To keep things cool while gaming, it has a built-in twin turbo fan cooling system. The intake fan can spin up to 12,500RPM while the outtake fan spins up to 15,000RPM.
For taking pictures, the rear gets a dual-camera setup with a 64MP main shooter and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, it gets a motorised 44MP pop-up front camera.
As you would expect from a gaming phone, it has dual front-facing stereo speakers enhanced by Dolby Atmos and there are also four built-in mics with noise reduction technology. Also included are dual HaptiX vibration linear motors, RGB lighting, and an array of Octa-Triggers which you can customise for better gameplay. The virtual buttons consist of four ultrasonic shoulder keys, two rear capacitive screen touchpoints and two in-display force touchpoints.
Powering the device is a dual-cell 5,500mAh (2x 2,750mAh) battery that supports up to 90W turbocharging. This allows you to charge faster by using both bottom and side-mounted USB-C ports. According to Lenovo, you can charge it up to 4,500mAh in just 17 minutes and a full charge takes just 30 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11 with ZUI 12.5 skin on top.
For added peace of mind, Lenovo Malaysia is also offering a one-year pick-up warranty. If you need repair or warranty, Lenovo will arrange a courier pick-up and drop-off service at no additional courier charges.
