While the number of new daily cases has shown a decline, it is also worth pointing out that Malaysia has been conducting fewer tests in the past week. As highlighted by Dr Amar-Singh HSS, the number of COVID-19 tests conducted daily has been hovering below the 100,000 mark.
In the last 24 hours, Malaysia has tested 77,030 individuals and the positivity rate today is 7.23%.
The average positivity rate in the past week is above the WHO’s threshold of 5%. This is an indication that more testing is required to detect more infected individuals in the community.
