Samsung Galaxy A32, A52 and A72 Malaysian pricing revealed, available from 26 March

Samsung Malaysia has officially announced the local pricing for the Galaxy A32, A52 and A72. This is the latest mid-range offering which now offers more flagship features for its higher A52 and A72 models.

Pricing and availability

Below is the official pricing for the new Samsung Galaxy A devices in Malaysia:

  • Samsung Galaxy A32 (LTE) 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM1,099
  • Samsung Galaxy A32 (5G) 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM1,199
  • Samsung Galaxy A52 (LTE) 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM1,499
  • Samsung Galaxy A72 (LTE) 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM1,899

All four models come in 4 colour options – Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome White and Awesome Black. The new Galaxy A phones will go on sale starting this Friday, 26th March 2021. If you purchase it between 26th March to 30th April, you’ll receive a free Soft Clear Cover (worth RM39) for the A32 or a free Clear Standing Cover (worth RM109) for the A52 and A72.

Galaxy A72 and A52

To recap, the Galaxy A72 and A52 are powered by a Snapdragon 720G and comes with 6.7″ and 6.5″ Full HD+ AMOLED 90Hz displays respectively. Both devices also offer IP67-rated dust and water resistance, Samsung Pay, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

In terms of cameras, the A52 gets a 64MP main shooter with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two 5MP shooters for depth and macro. Meanwhile, the A72 replaces the macro camera for an 8MP telephoto camera that can do 3x optical zoom. For selfies, both devices feature a 32MP front camera.

The Galaxy A52 gets a 4,500mAh battery while the A72 gets a 5,000mAh unit. Both supports 25W fast charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, Samsung Malaysia is only offering LTE versions for both models at the moment. Although both devices cost slightly more than the A51 and A71, the new iterations come with double the storage at 256GB.

Galaxy A32 LTE and 5G

The Galaxy A32 comes in both 4G and 5G versions, and both come with very different hardware including screen sizes. The 4G version gets a 6.4″ AMOLED 90Hz display with a Full HD+ screen and it runs on a Helio MediaTek G80. Meanwhile, the 5G version gets a slightly bigger 6.5″ TFT display that pushes a lower HD+ resolution screen and it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G chip.

In terms of camera, the LTE version gets a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth camera. The 5G version gets a lower 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Even the selfie cameras are different with the LTE version having a 20MP front camera while the 5G version settles for a 13MP camera.

Both variants come with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging via USB-C. In Malaysia, both A32 versions come with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. With a price tag of RM1,199 for the A32 5G, this is the most affordable 5G smartphone from Samsung but you can get better specs with the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.
