During today’s National Security Council (NSC), Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars are allowed throughout Malaysia during the CMCO and RMCO period. This is of course with strict adherence to the SOP.
In addition, Solat Terawih prayers are also allowed at mosques and suraus. However, the permitted capacity is dependent on the respective state religious authorities. This year’s Ramadan is expected to begin from 13th April and Hari Raya falls on 13th and 14th May.
The NSC has also announced three more states that are now placed under Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from 19th March until 31st March 2021. This include Kedah (except Kuala Muda and Kulim), Perak, Negeri Sembilan (except Seremban). Pahang, Terengganu, Perlis, Putrajaya, Labuan, Melaka and Sabah (except Nabawan) are also placed under RMCO.
Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Selangor, Johor, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur and Penang has been extended until 31st March 2021. Meanwhile, CMCO in Sarawak will continue until 29th March 2021.
Unfortunately, interstate travel is still not permitted. Interdistrict travel is allowed nationwide except for Sabah and Sarawak.
