Lego introduces two “plants” that you won’t have to worry about accidentally killing

I’m not the most green-thumbed person. The last time I got a monstera for my home, it ended up getting infected and it slowly died. I didn’t even know plants could get infections. Anyway, it’s people like me that I think Lego is targeting for their new release—the Botanical Collection.

The Lego Botanical Collection includes a Flower Bouquet and a Bonsai Tree, and they’re both absolutely gorgeous. After assembling them, you can even display the “plants” around your home and make them look like actual greenery, sans any chance of them actually dying from any infections. And as far as I know, Legos can’t get plant-related infections.

Lego Flower Bouquet

The Flower Bouquet is a 756-piece set that features a different kinds of blooms in an array of colours. Included in the set are three roses, lavender, daisies, a California poppy, two snapdragons, and an astra flower. But you’d have to stick them in your own vase.

“Some of the flower stems are made with long technic axles, and other flower stems are made with smaller dark green technic connectors. You can take those apart and reuse the pieces to either bend or shorten any of the flowers to adjust to the size of the vase that you have, or to make some stand out more or less, said Senior Lego Designer Anderson Grubb.

The Lego Flower Bouquet can be displayed as a centrepiece for your home’s decor, and they look kind of realistic from afar as well. They can be designed to be over 36cm high, with the set priced at RM219.90. The set will be available from 4 January 2021 through Lego’s official store on Lazada and Shopee, in Legoland, as well as major retailers and department stores in Malaysia.

Lego Bonsai Tree

For a more zen feel to your home or office decor, you can opt for the 878-piece Lego Bonsai Tree. The model comes with a rectangular pot and a slatted wood-effect stand, as well as the curved upright-style tree.

There are also two different kinds that you can choose from—one with green leaves, and one with cherry blossom details. A cool detail about the cherry blossom model is that the leaves have little frog-shaped legos to mimic the cherry blossoms.

The Lego Bonsai Tree stands at 18cm high when complete, and is priced at RM219. It will also be available from 4 January 2021 through Lego’s official store on Lazada and Shopee, in Legoland, and major retailers and department stores in Malaysia.

If you’re looking for Lego options that are available now and are also great pieces to display in your home, you can check out the Lego Technic Ferrari or the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 if you’re a car fan. If you’re not, the Lego Sesame Street set is super cute, and doubles as a dollhouse.
