[ UPDATE 7/12/2020 12:00 ]: Proton X50 subscription is now available from RM1,858. More details here.

===

The Proton X50 is one of the hottest SUVs in Malaysia at the moment with over 27,000 bookings received as of end October. If you want to skip the queue and drive one home without putting a hefty down payment, car subscription platform Flux has announced that they are offering the new compact SUV for subscription very soon.

If you’re interested, you can register your interest today and they will let you know once the cars are available. According to Flux, they will be offering the Proton X50 Flagship and Premium models. To recap, the Proton X50 Flagship with the 1.5 TGDi engine and Level 2 autonomous driving features is currently priced at RM103,300 while the Premium model with a 1.5 T engine is going for RM93,200.

To register your interest, just sign up for a Flux account, and click on the Proton X50 banner on their website.

You will be notified once the cars are ready for subscription and you can proceed with the reservation. After the initial payment is made, Flux says the car will be delivered to you within 7 days. Since this is a subscription service, you won’t have to worry about insurance, roadtax, maintenance or wear and tear. Flux also provides a concierge service that will pick up and return the car during the vehicle’s schedule service and there’s also a 24/7 roadside assistance as well.

Flux has yet to reveal the X50’s monthly subscription amount and typically you can subscribe on a month-to-month, 12-month, 24-month or 36-month option. By default, the subscription comes with a 1,250km of mileage per month (15,000km per year) and they also offer the option to upgrade to 2,000km/month or unlimited mileage. Although you don’t have to pay the usual 10% down payment, Flux still requires a non-refundable start fee during registration. Unlike a typical loan, the monthly subscription fees are charged to your registered credit card.

If you prefer a larger car, Flux currently offers the Proton X70 2020 Premium from RM2,195/month on a 36-month subscription with 1,250km of mileage. During the booking, the X70 requires a start fee of RM3,671.03.
