COVID-19: Malaysia continues to record 660 cases today, 4 more deaths in Sabah

Malaysia has reported XX new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 17,540. There are 4 new deaths reported today and the death toll is now 167.

The Ministry of Health has reported 233 new recoveries and a total of 11,605 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 66.16% while the mortality rate is 0.96%.

There are now 5,768 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 108 patients are in ICU while 35 require respiratory support.

Out of 660 cases today, 6 are imported while 654 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include 3 individuals that arrived from Singapore, 2 from Indonesia and 1 from the Philippines.

Sabah recorded the most cases with 429, followed by Kedah with 113 cases, Selangor with 68 cases, Penang with 17 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 12 cases.

The Ministry has identified a new Kencana cluster in Selangor which currently has 17 positive cases so far. As of 12pm today, there are a total of 19 red zones and 52 yellow zones in the country.
