This post is brought to you by OPPO.

We’ve all heard the old photography adage: “The best camera is the one you have with you.” For years, that usually meant compromising on image quality for the sake of convenience. But with the arrival of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, the gap between your pocket and your camera bag is narrowing significantly.

OPPO isn’t just calling this a new phone; they’ve dubbed it “Your Next Camera.” It is a bold claim, but looking at the spec sheet, it’s clear they aren’t just relying on software tricks. They’ve packed in some of the most ambitious imaging hardware and professional-grade video tools we’ve seen in a mobile device.

A 200MP Foundation with Professional Processing

The heart of the Find X9 Ultra is the new Sony LYT-901 sensor. This is a massive 1/1.12-inch, 200MP sensor, the largest 200MP sensor currently integrated into a smartphone.

What makes this impressive is the light-gathering capability. At f/1.5, it matches the light intake of previous 1-inch flagship sensors. To handle all that data, OPPO introduced the LUMO Image Engine, which allows core imaging algorithms to remain active even when shooting in full 200MP Hi-Res Mode.

For every shot, the sensor uses Real-Time Triple Exposure to capture a composite of three exposures instantly, ensuring a high dynamic range that OPPO says mirrors how the human eye perceives a scene.

The 8-Lens Logic: Dual 200MP Telephoto Breakthroughs

OPPO’s goal with the Find X9 Ultra is to provide 8 Hasselblad lenses in your pocket. By utilising the high resolution of the sensors, they offer eight distinct focal lengths, from a 14mm ultra-wide to a 460mm super-telephoto, all with optical-level clarity.

The stars of the show are the dual periscope lenses:

3x Ultra-Sensing Telephoto: Utilising a 1/1.28-inch 200MP sensor, this is larger than the primary cameras on many other flagships. It even supports a dedicated 3x Macro mode for close-up detail.

10x Optical Zoom: To fit this reach into a slim body, OPPO developed a Quintuple Prism Reflection system. To keep the image pristine, they used a Pristine Optical Path Architecture that cuts stray light by 99.999%.

Each lens module is aligned using Triple Active Optical Alignment (AOA) during assembly to ensure the sensor and prism are perfectly synced for maximum sharpness.

A Studio in Your Pocket: RAW MAX and 8K Video

For those who like to push their files in post-production, the Find X9 Ultra introduces 50MP RAW MAX. This mode offers up to 16-bit colour depth, matching the output of the Hasselblad X2D II, and is Adobe RAW certified for seamless integration into Lightroom or Photoshop.

The video specs are equally pro:

  • 4K 120fps Dolby Vision: Available on both the main and 3x telephoto lenses, perfect for cinematic slow motion.
  • 8K 30fps: Supported on the main and 3x sensors, allowing for significant reframing and cropping in post.
  • O-Log2 with ACES: This is a second-generation Log solution that is ACES certified, meaning your mobile footage can be integrated into professional Hollywood colour-grading workflows.

The Earth Explorer Kit: Turning a Phone into a Camera

To complete the real camera feel, the Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit adds physical utility. The grip features a two-stage shutter button (half-press to focus, full-press to shoot) and a physical dial for precise zoom control.

The most unique accessory is the 300mm Explorer Teleconverter. This isn’t just a piece of metal; it features 16 glass elements, including 4 extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to minimise chromatic aberration. When mounted to the 3x telephoto, it delivers a 13x optical zoom (300mm equivalent).

Built for the Long Haul

A professional tool is only useful if it stays powered on. OPPO has packed a massive 7,050mAh Silicon-Carbon battery into the Find X9 Ultra, supported by 100W SUPERVOOC wired and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. It’s also built to survive the elements with an IP66, IP68, and IP69 triple-certification.

On the software side, the new ColorOS 16, running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, introduces O+ Connect. This allows for native-quality, cross-platform file sharing between OPPO and iOS/Mac devices, solving a major headache for creators who use multiple systems.

Experience the OPPO Find X9 Ultra Today

Is it a replacement for a professional DSLR? Perhaps not. But for the traveller, the street photographer, or the person who wants professional-grade memories without the bulk of a camera bag, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra makes a very compelling case.

Pre-orders for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra are now open until 7 May 2026. During this period, you can secure the 16GB + 1TB variant for RM6,799, thanks to a complimentary storage upgrade promotion worth RM1,000. Additionally, with the purchase-with-purchase (PWP) deal, you can add a 1-year Screen Protection Plan for just RM99.

There’s more in store via My OPPO App Exclusive Privileges. These include a Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit Voucher valued at RM700, a complimentary 12-month Lens Protection plan worth RM139, a free 1-year Extended Warranty worth RM199, a free tempered glass for the Find X9 Ultra valued at RM49, and other added perks.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is available through OPPO’s official Online Store, physical retail outlets, as well as on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
