Hardware specs

Upfront, the Poco X3 NFC comes with a 6.67″ Full HD+ LCD display that pushes a high 120Hz refresh rate. It has a DynamicSwitch feature which automatically changes the screen’s refresh rate depending on your application.

For example for video viewing, it runs at 60Hz but it bumps up to 90Hz or 120Hz when you run a game that supports high refresh rate. On a static page, it can drop its refresh rate down to 50Hz to save on power.

The screen also boasts a 240Hz touch sampling rate for better touch responsiveness and it’s claimed to be 33% better than most flagship smartphones. On top of that, the front also gets Gorilla Glass 5. Instead of a pop-up front camera like the Poco F2 Pro, the device gets a tiny 3.8mm punch-hole to house a 20MP selfie shooter.

Under the hood, the X3 NFC runs on a Snapdragon 732G processor with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. During the event, the device claims to score over 300,000 points on Antutu benchmarks and it also uses LiquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus to keep things cool during intensive gaming. If you need more storage, the device also get microSD expansion via a hybrid SIM slot.

In the camera department, the rear gets a quad-camera setup that comes with unusual camera bump design. This includes a 64MP main camera that uses a large 1/1.73″ Sony IMX682 sensor. It also gets a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors. The camera can record 4K 30fps videos and there’s also AI Skyscaping 3.0 which can turn day time shots into night shots. .

For a more immersive video and gaming experience, the X3 NFC also features dual stereo speakers. There’s also a cool speaker cleaner feature that vibrates unwanted dust which you can trigger in the settings. If you prefer to use your own headphones, the device still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Powering the new Poco device is a huge 5,160mAh battery that supports 33W fast-charging via USB-C. According to Poco, the battery can provide up to 10 hours of gaming or up to 17 hours of videos. The device can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 65 minutes.

In terms of connectivity, this is a 4G LTE device with dual-SIM and it supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Like the name suggests, it comes with NFC and there’s also an IR blaster. The device also gets IP53-rated dust and water resistance which is good for accidental splashes.

Out of the box, it runs on MIUI 12 for Poco that’s based on Android 10. Poco also promises to offer 3 years of consistent system updates and fans will also get Kernel sources available at launch.

Overall, the Poco X3 NFC packs a lot of class leading hardware for less than RM1,000. It’s definitely a better buy than the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9S.
