Proton is celebrating the Saga’s 35th anniversary tomorrow with a special edition car. A day before the announcement, the national carmaker has released a teaser video which provides a clear look at the new additions for the special vehicle.

As seen earlier, the 35th-anniversary edition will come with a black paint job that has additional yellow highlights. From the teaser video, the rings for the instrument cluster would come in yellow. It appears that the air-conditioning vents and trim below it also will get a touch of yellow.

On the outside, there’s a new body kit with yellow highlights for the front, rear and side skirts. The side mirrors and the plastic trim that flows between the front headlamps are also in yellow. That’s all we can see at the moment and we are guessing that Proton might include better leather seats and perhaps different carpeting like the Proton X70 Merdeka Edition. We reckon there could be a badge somewhere to signify that this is a special edition model.

Proton Saga Anniversary

Since it comes with daytime running LEDs, the Saga Anniversary Edition will be based on the Premium Auto variant. With the additional accessories, expect it to be priced above RM40,000 and it could possibly cost more if this Saga is released in limited quantities.

The vehicle will be unveiled tomorrow, the 9th of July at 10:35am. You can watch it live on Proton’s Facebook page.
