Ikea Malaysia receives approval to start contactless delivery service during MCO

If you need extra furniture for your WFH setup or plan to prepare your home for the upcoming Raya celebrations, here’s some good news for you. Ikea Malaysia has announced that it will commence its delivery service as it has received approval from the authorities.

According to the home furnishing brand, their priority is to arrange delivery for existing orders that were made before 27th April. Ikea will be contacting affected customers to schedule deliveries at the earliest available slot within the next 72 hours.

Due to the current movement control order, assembly service is not allowed and they will only offer contactless delivery service for now. Ikea says that they are working closely with the authorities to find a contactless assembly solution that’s compliant with the current MCO directive.

According to Ikea’s delivery guidelines, all staff will have to undergo temperature screening at their warehouse and all drivers and workers must wear surgical masks and gloves at all times. Delivery workers must sanitise their hands, put on gloves and wear a surgical mask before entering a customer’s home. The delivery workers will confirm the delivery placement of the purchased items and they will bring it to the room that’s preferred by the customer.
