Xiaomi Malaysia opens pre-order for Mi Max 2 and Mi 6

Xiaomi Malaysia is bringing not one but two new smartphones into our local market. Apart from the Mi 6 flagship, Xiaomi is also introducing the Mi Max 2 phablet in Malaysia.

Pre-orders for both devices will be available starting next Monday, 31 July at 12PM. You can place your pre-order on the Mi Store on Lazada Malaysia or via their Mi Premium Reseller at Queensbay Mall, Penang.

Xiaomi Mi 6

The Mi 6 has already appeared on Lazada Malaysia with a retail price of RM1,899. This makes it the most affordable Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone in Malaysia. From the looks of it, the Mi 6 will be available only in Black colour for now and we are getting the base model with 64GB of storage.

To recap on the specs, the Mi 6 has a 5.15″ Full HD display and it runs on Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB of RAM. It gets a curved glass back like the previous Mi 5 but it is more refined for a more premium feel.

At the rear, it comes with dual 12MP cameras with the secondary lens offering 2X Optical zoom. Meanwhile, the front also comes with a 8MP selfie camera. It is juiced up by a 3,350mAh battery and it charges via USB Type-C.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2

The Mi Max 2 is the successor of its affordable phablet smartphone, the Mi Max. It carries a huge 6.44″ Full HD display and it runs on a Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM. It comes with either 64GB or 128GB of storage, but we reckon that we should be getting the smaller 64GB option.

For taking pictures, it gets a 12MP f/2.2 Sony IMX386 main camera that can shoot 4K videos while the front comes with a 5MP selfie shooter.

The Mi Max 2 also gets stereo audio utilising the earpiece and loud speaker. Powering this mammoth device is a 5,300mAh battery which can support Quick Charge 3.0 via USB Type-C.

UPDATE: The Mi Max 2 is also listed on Lazada Malaysia. The 64GB model is officially priced at RM1,199 and it also comes in Black.

Thanks @jun_0710 and Shaun Paul Lee for the tip!
