In case you didn’t know, Tesla Malaysia has opened up some of its Supercharger locations to non-Tesla vehicles since March 2026. However, these DC chargers cost quite a premium at RM1.80 per kWh for non-Tesla owners.

Today, it appears that Tesla is making their Superchargers more affordable for non-Tesla vehicles.

During normal hours, the revised Supercharger rates are now cheaper than Gentari’s network which are typically priced at RM1.60 per kWh or higher. On top of that, non-Tesla owners can also enjoy cheaper off-peak rates for as low as RM1.26 per kWh.

Four Tesla Superchargers for non-Tesla now priced from RM1.45 per kWh

Four Tesla Supercharger locations open to non-Tesla vehicles

To recap, there are only four Tesla Supercharger locations in Malaysia that are open to non-Tesla vehicles. Here’s the full list and the new revised pricing:

  • Pavilion Kuala Lumpur – RM1.55 per kWh (Previously: RM1.80 per kWh)
  • IOI City Mall, Putrajaya – RM1.45 per kWh (Previously: RM1.80 per kWh)
  • I-City Finance Avenue, Shah Alam – RM1.43 per kWh (Previously: RM1.80 per kWh)
  • Gamuda Cove, Dengkil – RM1.52 per kWh (Previously: RM1.80 per kWh)

To charge at these Supercharger locations as a non-Tesla owner, you’ll need to have a Tesla app with a registered account.

Here’s the step to activate the Tesla Supercharger for non-Tesla EVs:

  1. Tap on the Find a Charger button on the Charge Your EV banner on the home page
  2. Select the location and press Charge Here – if you are already in the location, chances are that the app will open up this page.
  3. Plug in the charging cable to your EV, select the post number, and press Start Charging

Take note that Pavilion KL and Gamuda Cove are still using V3 Tesla Superchargers which has a shorter cable. This can be tricky if your charging port is not located on the same side as Tesla EVs.

For better charging experience, it is better to utilise the V4 Tesla Superchargers which come with longer cables. These hardware can be found at IOI City Mall and I-City.

Another thing to take note is that Tesla Supercharger are pushing 400V-500V. So if you’re driving an EV with 800V architecture, you may get lower charging speeds compared to other DC chargers that support 800V.

I-City and Pavilion KL offers dynamic pricing, as low as RM1.26 per kWh

If you want to pay less for charging, Tesla is now offering dynamic pricing for non-Tesla vehicles. This means you can enjoy cheaper charging rates during off-peak hours at selected locations.

For now, this off-peak pricing for non-Tesla vehicles is only applicable at I-City Shah Alam and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

At I-City, the Supercharger for non-Tesla is going for RM1.26 per kWh from 11:00pm to 11:00am.

Meanwhile, at Pavilion KL, the Supercharger costs RM1.39 per kWh from 10:00pm to 10:00am.

Interestingly, there’s also a “Non-Tesla membership” option, which lets you enjoy even lower rates for a monthly fee if your Tesla account is registered under the US region.

The Non-Tesla membership costs USD12.99/month (or USD14.03/month after tax) which is about RM57/month. As shown above, the membership will let you enjoy member rates as low as RM0.94 per kWh during off-peak hours at I-City Shah Alam.

Thanks Nick for the tip!
