The Galaxy Note8 is Samsung’s next big thing and it is almost a year since the ill-fated Galaxy Note7 was announced last August. After serial leaker @evleaks had dropped some details on the specs, we now have some sort of visual of the upcoming productivity smartphone.
Based on factory CAD details obtained by @onleaks, the folks at 91mobiles have generated a 360 render of the Galaxy Note8. Compared to the current Galaxy S8/S8+, the Note8 appears more squarish and it also retains an all glass front without a home button.
As mentioned before, the Galaxy Note8 will feature a 6.3″ screen which is slightly bigger than the 6.2″ screen on the Galaxy S8+. The overall dimensions are slightly wider at 162.4mm x 74.5mm x 8.4mm but it measures 9.5mm at the thickest point because of its camera bump.
The Galaxy Note8 will feature a dual-camera system at the rear and the fingerprint sensor once again is placed right next to it along with its LED flash and heart rate sensor. Just like the S8/S8+, Samsung won’t be fitting in-screen fingerprint sensor, so you’ll still need to use the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor a lot.
At the bottom, you’ll find the usual USB Type-C port, an S-Pen stylus and also a headphone jack. The Galaxy Note8 also comes with a dedicated Bixby button on the left side below the usual volume rocker.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy Note8 is expected to run on the same Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 835 (for US market) processor as the Galaxy S8/S8+ but with 6GB of RAM instead of 4GB. For the battery, Samsung is said to be more conservative by fitting a 3,300mAh battery which is smaller than the Galaxy S8+’s 3,500mAh capacity.
Adding more credibility to the render, the folks at BGR have also published similar looking version but with a visually smaller camera bump. The placement of the dual-camera lens and fingerprint sensor placement are also identical to @onleaks + 91Mobiles render.
So what do you guys think? For us, we think the fingerprint sensor would be better mounted in the centre so that it’s easier to locate.
