Xiaomi’s high-spec Mi Note Pro to go on sale soon?

The Xiaomi Mi Note was announced with two versions – the standard Mi Note with a Full HD display and a high-spec Mi Note Pro which comes with a Quad HD display, Snapdragon 810 processor and a huge 4GB of RAM. So far only the standard Mi Note has went on sale in China and the Mi Note Pro has always been in the “coming soon” status without a definitive dateline.

Before you dismiss the Mi Note Pro as vapourware, the high-end device with a golden frame has finally popped by China’s TENNA certification database with the model number 2015021. This indeed is the Mi Note Pro with a Quad HD display as well as support for 4G LTE in both TD-LTE and LTE FDD bands. Surprisingly it was also listed with a newer Android 5.0.2 for its operating system, which is similar to what we’ve seen for its upcoming Mi 4i.

Spec wise, the Mi Note Pro gets a 5.7″ IPS Quad HD display and it runs on a Snapdragon 810 Octa-core processor instead of a Snapdragon 801 Quad-Core unit on the standard Mi Note. For on-board storage, it gets a single option of 64GB but it lacks a microSD slot for expansion. The back gets a 13MP f/2.0 OIS camera from Sony while the front gets a 4MP “Ultrapixel” camera. It also support dual-SIMs with 4G LTE and powering the device is a 3,000mAh capacity battery with support for quick charging.

With the certification out of the way, Xiaomi would be pushing to sell the Mi Note Pro in China anytime now. In terms of price, it is going for 3,299 CNY which is RM1,967 in our current exchange rates. Xiaomi says that the Mi Note would be coming to Malaysia in Q2 this year and if all else fails, you can probably pick up one from the guys at DirectD shortly after its debut sale in China.
