Today the Oppo Find 7a has received a software update which upgrades its ColorOS from v1.2.0i to v1.2.1i. Weighing in about 290MB in size, the update fixes a couple of bugs and stability issues with power consumption.
Interestingly, the new ColorOS 1.2.1.i also introduced several new features as well, notably a new Voiceprint unlocking which is pictured above. Within the set up description, it claims that everyone has a unique voice print similar to fingerprints. The set up is done by recording a preset voice password five times to identify your unique voice print. With this, your voice is now turned into an unbreakable private code which could be as secured as fingerprint unlocking.
We haven’t tested this yet and we are curious if it can be fooled easily like the face unlock feature on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Of course, what are the chances of anyone getting an audio recording of you saying Hello Oppo or OK Oppo? Also new is the support for Smart Covers which could be introduced soon.
