Industry standards seem to be pushing more of everything, including RAM. Previously when 3GB seemed a lot, Samsung just might be considering to add the S6 edge+ to the ever-growing list. The rumoured S6 edge+ has picked up a lot of pace recently, as August is around the corner.
There is a strong possibility the 4GB slot in Samsung’s line-up will be two-fold come August the 12th (rumoured release date), as the Note 5 is also said to have the same RAM internals. No surprise here, as currently in the market, other players have already equip their phones with the same 4GB of RAM – Asus Zenfone 2, Lenovo K80, and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.
Supposedly, the same rumour also mentions the mobile devices’ battery (3000 mAh), along with Samsung’s signature Exynos 7420 processor. With bumps in the current RAM (3GB) and battery (2600 mAh) compared to its little sibling, the S6 edge, the likeliness of it costing more would be a safe assumption. Just to give a rough idea of how much it’ll cost, here’s the pricing breakdown of the S6 edge and similarly sized iPhone 6 Plus locally:
RM 3,126 – iPhone 6 Plus 16GB
RM 3,099 – Galaxy S6 edge 32GB
RM 3,550 – iPhone 6 Plus 64GB
RM 3,599 – Galaxy S6 edge 64GB
With prices that look like that, more RAM & battery could mean a significant hit to its price-point. To those still looking forward to the device and want to know more regarding the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, do take a look here.
