After the Zenfone 2, ASUS is expected to announce its new ZenPad tablet series at Computex 2015. You can expect Intel Atom powered internals and the front display is pushing a 4:3 aspect ratio that’s similar to the iPad.

Now a new leak of its ZenPad 8 has revealed more of its exterior design. The back is shown with a dual texture design with a leather-like appearance at the bottom for better grip. The power and rocker buttons are placed on the right side and the front appears to have dual stereo speakers as well. There’s an exposed slot on the left which could be used for an expandable microSD card slot.

In terms of specs, the bigger ZenPad 8 is expected to run on an Intel Atom Z3530/Z3560 that’s currently powering their high spec Zenfone 2, and is mated to 2GB of RAM. At the front, there’s an 8″ display pushing 2048×1536 resolution similar to an iPad mini with Retina display.

For those looking for something more affordable, there’s also the ZenPad 7 with a lower resolution 7″ 1024×600 display and it could be running on a newer Intel Atom x3 series with 1GB of RAM. Both models are expected to come in both WiFi and 3G versions. With Computex happening early next month, it won’t take too long before ASUS reveal its full confirmed specs. ASUS is currently the #2 tablet brand in Malaysia for 2014 and it would be interesting to see if this will bring ASUS up another notch to #1.
