It appears that BYD Malaysia is gearing up to launch the 2026 refresh of the Denza D9 electric MPV in our market soon. This is based on a new teaser recently published across Denza Malaysia’s social media channels.
While the teaser is light on details, the refreshed 2026 Denza D9 is expected to carry major upgrades in charging capability, performance, and equipment.
2026 Denza D9 Malaysia: 2nd-Gen BYD Blade Battery with Flash Charging support?

One of the headline upgrades expected on the 2026 Denza D9 is support for BYD’s Flash Charging technology. This aligns with BYD Malaysia’s ongoing rollout of BYD Flash Chargers at key Denza centres, including Balakong, KL North, and Glenmarie.
Regional momentum points in the same direction: BYD last month introduced the Flash Charging-capable D9 in Indonesia—where the brand is marketed as Danza due to an ongoing local trademark dispute. On the other hand, the Hong Kong market has recently received the D9 Duo featuring not only Flash Charging capability but also CCS2 and GB/T ports.
With Flash Charging enabled, the updated D9 can juice up from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, while a 10% to 97% top-up takes approximately 9 minutes.
To support these speeds, the refreshed model adopts BYD’s 2nd-generation Blade Battery. In Indonesia, the battery pack on the Danza D9 grows to 115.03kWh—a noticeable bump over the 103.36kWh 1st-gen pack fitted to the initial Denza D9 launched in Malaysia in early 2025.
That extra capacity extends range considerably: Indonesia’s 2026 Danza D9 FWD claims up to 730km (NEDC), compared to the 600km (NEDC) rated for the existing Malaysian-spec Denza D9 FWD.
2026 Denza D9 Malaysia: More punch and tech additions

We are also expecting a healthy bump in performance output as well. The 2026 Danza D9 FWD in Indonesia delivers 340kW (456hp) and 365Nm of torque, far outpacing the 230kW (308hp) and 360Nm produced by Malaysia’s current front-drive model.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s D9 Duo AWD boasts a combined output of 410kW (550hp) and 445Nm. By comparison, the existing AWD variant in Malaysia puts out 275kW (369hp), though it holds a slight edge on peak torque at 470Nm.

Other equipment likely bound for our 2026 update includes BYD’s DiSus-C dual-valve intelligent damping suspension, a 16-speaker Devialet audio system, a Child Presence Detection (CPD) sensor, and power-adjustment switches for the third-row seating.
