Razer has introduced the Razer Prio, a new ultra-portable gaming controller designed for smartphones. Unlike typical telescopic mobile controllers, the Prio uses a folding design that allows it to shrink to roughly the size of a credit card when not in use.
The Razer Prio connects directly to compatible iPhones and Android smartphones via USB-C and the direct connection provides low-latency input for mobile gaming.
Razer says the Prio is the first product in its new line of ultra-portable mobile controllers.
Razer Prio specs and features
The biggest highlight of the Razer Prio is its compact folding mechanism. When folded, the controller measures 107 x 67 x 23mm and weighs just 101g, making it small enough to slip into a pocket.
To use it, the controller twists open and expands to accommodate smartphones measuring up to 7 inches. Razer specifically lists the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra among the supported devices. It is also designed to work with most slim to medium-sized phone cases.
Despite its compact design, the Prio provides a complete controller layout with two low-profile analogue thumbsticks, a tactile four-way D-pad, face buttons, bumpers and triggers.
Razer says the Prio is its first controller to feature capacitive analogue thumbsticks. Instead of relying on physical contacts, the sticks use contactless capacitive sensing to detect movement. According to Razer, this approach is engineered to reduce stick drift, while eliminating physical contacts that can wear down over time.
The controller also gets what Razer describes as “silent tactile” face buttons, which are designed to provide responsive feedback while producing less noise when you’re gaming in public.
Since the Prio connects directly to your smartphone through USB-C, there’s no Bluetooth pairing process and no separate controller battery that needs to be charged.
In terms of software compatibility, Razer says the Prio supports iPhones running iOS 18 as well as Android devices running Android 14 or later.
Besides locally installed games, the controller supports Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link and PS Remote Play. It also supports Razer PC Remote Play through the Razer Cortex Mobile and PC apps.
There’s also a dedicated Razer Cortex Mobile button which opens your game library with a single press. For Razer PC Remote Play, users will need to open Razer Cortex Mobile and link it to Razer Cortex on their PC.
With its 101g weight and credit card-sized folded footprint, the Prio is aimed at gamers who want physical controls without carrying around a conventional full-sized controller.
