Kelas Sekejap, an AI-native learning platform co-founded by Khairy Jamaluddin, Shahril Hamdan, and Isaac Tan, has announced an expansion of its ecosystem.
Initially launched in January 2026 as a conversational English-learning app, the platform has amassed over 15,000 registered users and facilitates over 6,000 active conversations through its AI tutor.
The app provides a judgment-free space for Malaysians to practise speaking and receive immediate feedback, moving beyond English to feature personalised learning covering news, careers, money, and everyday life. Support for Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is also on the roadmap.
Kelas SPM and workplace integration

The platform is expanding its reach into formal education and corporate environments.
For secondary schools, Kelas SPM provides Form 1 to Form 5 students with AI-powered speaking and listening practice that aligns with the national syllabus.
This module is already active in several schools across Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka, designed to help teachers identify students requiring additional support. For the corporate sector, Kelas Sekejap for Enterprise allows companies to convert internal company knowledge into scalable AI coaching for their employees.
Gamified user experience and brand rewards

The app is designed with a streamlined user experience that heavily gamifies the learning process and task completion.
To incentivise this progress, Kelas Sekejap introduced a Branded Learning model. Partner companies can integrate their expertise into short-form educational series and AI-powered storytelling.
An early collaboration with Tealive allowed users to practise real-world conversations by turning the everyday interaction of ordering a drink into a practical language lesson. Instead of traditional advertising, users earn rewards, perks, and redemptions from partner brands when they complete specific learning milestones.
Backed by prominent investors

The local startup has secured backing from several notable figures in the Malaysian business and tech scene. Its seed funding round was led by Tan Sri Nazir Razak.
The company’s pre-seed investors include Mark Koh, Khailee Ng, Joel Neoh, Bryan Loo, Tengku Fahad Mua’adzam Shah, Hawthorne Capital, and First Move.
Availability and upcoming hands-on
Kelas Sekejap is currently available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
We will be taking the app for a spin to test its learning approach and AI tutor capabilities, so stay tuned for our upcoming impressions.
