Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that train operations along the Pelabuhan Klang route have resumed as normal following an overhead line breakdown earlier today.
This is the second major disruption to hit KTM in less than a week, following last week’s outage on the Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves line caused by unauthorised external construction work.
What caused the initial KTM Komuter service disruption?
The initial disruption was caused by an electricity supply fault along the overhead line situated between the Subang Jaya and KL Sentral stations.
Due to the technical issue, train services leaving from Pelabuhan Klang heading towards KL Sentral were forced to terminate prematurely at the Subang Jaya station.
Meanwhile, trains travelling from Tanjung Malim to Pelabuhan Klang had to end their journey at KL Sentral, forcing affected commuters to seek alternative options such as the Rapid KL LRT Kelana Jaya Line.
Power restored at 10:39 AM, full train services resumed
Fortunately, the downtime did not last all day. KTMB confirmed that the electricity supply issue was officially resolved at 10:39 AM.
Following the restoration work, KTM Komuter train services along the affected Pelabuhan Klang route have fully resumed normal operations. Passengers can once again travel seamlessly between Pelabuhan Klang and KL Sentral without needing to transfer to alternative rail lines at Subang Jaya.
KTMB apologises for train delays and inconvenience caused
Prior to the full restoration, KTMB had deployed relief train services using train numbers 2106 and 2103 to assist stranded passengers at the Subang Jaya integration station, which ran with delays of around 30 minutes.
The rail operator has issued a statement apologising to all affected commuters for the inconvenience caused by the outage, while thanking passengers for their patience and understanding during the service recovery process.
