If you are planning to travel via Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) today, you might want to recheck your routes or arrange alternative transport. KTMB has announced service delays and route alterations affecting both KTM Komuter and Electric Train Service (ETS) lines following an overhead power line disruption.

What caused the disruption?

According to announcements published on KTMB’s official Facebook page, an overhead power line failure occurred on the tracks between Batang Benar and Labu stations.

The damage was caused by heavy construction equipment belonging to an external contractor working for Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR). The machinery fell onto the tracks during unauthorised construction work conducted without KTMB’s prior approval.

Current status of KTM Komuter services

Because the power supply between Labu and Batang Benar remains cut off, there is currently no KTM Komuter service running between Bangi and Seremban stations until further notice.

KTM Komuter operations are currently running on a restricted schedule, with active trains operating solely along the Bangi–Batu Caves sector. Trains departing from Pulau Sebang towards KL Sentral are terminating at Seremban Station, with journeys only resuming from Bangi Station towards KL Sentral and Batu Caves.

In line with these changes, Train 2004 was terminated early at Seremban, while Train 2006 commenced its run from Bangi towards Batu Caves. Commuters along the affected Bangi–Seremban sector are advised to find alternative transport until service is fully restored.

As of 11:30 AM, repair and restoration works are currently actively underway on the affected stretch. KTMB estimates that full service restoration will be completed by 10:00 PM tonight.

ETS shuttle bus arrangements and refund policy

To assist affected ETS passengers, KTMB has deployed dedicated shuttle bus transfers connecting key stations to Seremban. For the Kajang–Seremban route, passengers can board bus DDV4400, while bus DDX6600 covers the Bandar Tasik Selatan–Seremban sector. Meanwhile, passengers travelling between KL Sentral and Seremban have five dedicated buses available, carrying registration numbers JTX1700, JSC2700, JUE2200, JTU8700, and JUC6600.

For ETS ticket holders who choose not to proceed with their journey from their departure station, KTMB is offering a full fare refund. Commuters needing further on-ground assistance are advised to consult station staff on duty, as KTMB will continue to provide periodic updates as restoration works progress.
